How to Use the SmartBoard & Document Camera: We are currently arranging for our smartboard vendor to conduct a smartboard and document camera workshop in the HEDCO Technology Support Center in September. Stay tuned for more details!
I have already been involved in several exciting projects to kick-off the new year including:
- Education Department Faculty Retreat: On Wednesday, August 18, Daniel Ransom, our Librarian for Outreach, Digitization and Electronic Resources, and I were invited to participate in the Education Department Faculty Retreat in the HEDCO Technology Support Center. I conducted a short presentation highlighting several exciting new services and technologies including the SmartBoard and Document Camera in HEDCO, the new Library Website (library.hnu.edu), and a demo of how online surveys can be used in the classroom. We had a great time!
- Online Learning Type Measure: I assisted Thea Maestre in switching from paper-based to online assessment for the Learning Type Measure (LTM). The LTM determine a student’s learning style and is used in EDUC 245 and 332. With the switch to online assessment, students can now take the LTM outside of the classroom. This frees up more class time to discuss and compare results. The online tool can also be used to visually compare students’ results.
Tip Alert! Mac Tip of the Week will Return!
The popular Mac Tip will make its return next week.
Each week, I will share a Mac tip that I have learned from an AHA! moment, helping faculty, working with the Information Technology Dept, etc. I hope that you will find them useful. Stay tuned!
